How do I change the font and font size on a word document?

I need to make it larger, and change the font itself, I click on the font and font size boxes, and change them to what I want. and then save the doc. but when I go to print it, it goes right back to the original size and font, which is way too small. what am I doing wrong? It seems I have had this problem forever, Only some types of documents will let me change them. I am just using the word proccesor program in word. do I need to use something else?How do I change the font and font size on a word document?
Okay, highlight the words, and then click the font/ size box to what ever you want.

Then save it. (control + the s button)

Then just print.

Don't even look at the print preview.

If the doc was copied then sometimes it wont let you.How do I change the font and font size on a word document?

With your office product closed,install your printer.

Download new drivers, if available.

Reinstall the printer and try your document again.
