Excel file graph changes completely after saving!!!?

Ok, I have used excel several times, but my work computer is driving me crazy. I save excel files, return to them at a later time and they work just fine, then I return to them later and the graphs change, the chart type changes, the font changes... what is the reason behind this? how can I avoid it, is there a way to restore what has been done?

The only way something could be ';changing'; is if somebody else is changing it. I suppose you could have a virus on your computer, or something you are importing is retaining its own formatting and messing things up; however, there is also the possibility that another person is making the changes.

What you could do is password protect your work to see if that puts an end to the problem. There are several options in Excel file protection and Microsoft made a great little tutorial about it. Here's the link:

If you use a password, make sure you remember it, maybe write it down in your purse/wallet. Because if you lose it, there will be no way to get into that file.Excel file graph changes completely after saving!!!?
Are the files saved on the network? If so Try saving the files to your C drive. And Or save them to your C drive with a different name.

Also you may want to go to microsoft.com and get the latest patches for Office.

Hope that helps
