On Microsoft PowerPoint 2003, how do you change the default font color?

Somehow, the default font color has been changed to the same color as my background. When I type I can't see anything. I then need to highlight the text (which I can't see) and then change it to the right color (every time)On Microsoft PowerPoint 2003, how do you change the default font color?
